Christmas and The Senior Soak

Happy New Year everyone.

Christmas in the south doesn’t feel much like the Christmas’s I remember from our northern childhoods. Here in south Texas it was hard to get into the spirit of the holiday. No shopping, no wrapping, no baking or cooking, decorating the fifth wheel took 5 minutes, no stress. Best of all no cold, snow, or freezing rain.

There were not nearly the Christmas decorations here as there are in the north (I guess palm trees don’t lend themselves to decorations as well as pine trees) and it was easy to forget the season unless you were in a mall on the weekends preceding the big day. Same packed parking lots and long lines at the cash register. But still, it’s hard to get into the spirit when the temperatures reach the high 80s and into the 90s.

Had a great pot luck lunch here at the park with lot’s of great food, but the best part of my Christmas was the “Senior Soak’.

The day was hot, the pool was warm and the spa was warmer so all we could do to burn off those extra calories was to spend the afternoon in the pool. My idea of a perfect Christmas day activity.
